You may not be aware that, when you look at your paycheck, your net pay doesn’t tell the whole story. As a full-time, benefits-eligible employee of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS), your net pay is just one piece of an extremely competitive compensation/benefits package that you receive from the Gwinnett County Board of Education (BOE). These Board-paid benefits can add up to 30% or more to your total compensation! Just as impressive, GCPS has maintained the employee cost of GCPS-provided benefits with no increase for 15 years, even while improving the benefits and services.

Investing in You, Now and in the Future

GCPS is proud to be a nationally acclaimed, award-winning school district. We’ve built and maintained our reputation by recruiting some of the nation’s top talent. Our value-added compensation package is an ongoing investment in our most valuable resource– our people. While some benefits are mandated by law, such as Medicare and workers’ compensation, the Gwinnett BOE goes the extra mile, enhancing the overall package offered to employees with voluntary benefits such as paid time off, employer-paid portions of insurance (basic life, dental, and health), and generous retirement contributions.

Gwinnett Retirement System

GCPS doesn’t participate in Social Security, instead contributing to the Gwinnett Retirement System (GRS). This means more take-home pay for employees, plus GRS provides a much stronger return on investment compared to Social Security and other types of retirement funds. All active, full-time employees are automatically members of this plan. So, forget all of the uncertainty and debate about the future of Social Security. When it comes to retirement income from your employment in Gwinnett, GCPS has got you covered.

It truly pays to be a GCPS employee!

Whether you’re considering a position with GCPS or already are part of the team, you can be confident in knowing that this is one school district that understands and values its employees. It’s no surprise that GCPS has been named “One of America’s Best Employers” and a “Best Employer for Women” by Forbes Magazine, one of the “Top 25 Best Places to Work” by Gwinnett Magazine, and a “Top 25 Employer” by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
